LAUNCH WEEK FOR TITIAN’S BOATMAN

A neat visual summing up of my week so far courtesy of Max and his creator Giovannetti. It was wonderful (of course) and began something like this …

Max was born in Punch around 1952.

And then it progressed to something like this …

He was a hamster by the way.

Normal behaviour will resume shortly…

  1. I hope it was a great week! Oh I loved this book – I wish I could read it all over again – when I read the first lines, I knew I was going to love it – and I loved the way it ended too. I really can’t praise it enough. The mood of the book reminded me of Jeanette Winterson’s ‘The Passion’, which is one of my favourite books of all time – and certainly my favourite depiction of Venice – though I may have to change that view now! Absolutely wonderful. I’ve just told my fiction librarian today to buy some copies for our libraries 🙂 I’ve posted reviews on Amazon and Good Reads.

    • Thanks so much Andrea. I’m absolutely thrilled you liked it. I also love The Passion – it was one of the books that made me want to become a writer! Thanks so much for the reviews and for buying them for the libraries. I hope lots of people enjoy it!

  2. Hi Vicky, I don’t seem to have your email address anymore so thought to use this forum. I want to say how very much I have enjoyed reading Titian’s Boatman. I was totally engrossed in the characters and the spirit of place and I didn’t want it to end. In the same way that I think of Sam Falconer pretty much every time I drive over Putney Bridge. We are off to Venice at the end of March so no doubt your characters will accompany me there. I sent a copy to my step-mother too who is very discerning and widely read and she said you are a wonderful writer. So there you are!

Only thing that I got a bit upset about was you mention my favourite restaurant 3 times (great publicity and well described) – but the name was incorrect. Changed to Jo Allen’s instead of Joe Allen’s. Maybe it can be corrected before the paperback edition? Don’t change anything else – it’s fab! Victoria x
